ASA-OCC Oakland County Library Project

Hundreds of books and DVDs were donated to Oakland County public libraries in April 2008. The goal of this project was to provide free up-to-date information in 13 different ASD related subject areas to the general public. These 75 titles, valued at almost $9,000, are available at either your local Oakland County library or through interlibrary loan. A complete listing of these new resources is available

Special Education Dispute Resolution

The ASA-OCC collaborated with four other organizations to create a new parent-friendly helpful document entitled: Special Education Informal Dispute Resolution Processes, An Oakland County Parent's Guide. In only three pages, the basics of communicating effectively with the school, requesting a service for your child, IEPT meetings, Facilitated IEPT Meetings, Local Resolution Processes and Mediation are explained. We hope you find the color coded flowchart and hot links easy to use and reference. Early Resolution is the Best Solution!

ASA/OCC now maintains an event page for ASD-related events across Southeast Michigan
