Run for a Reason: Team Autism
With enthusiastic support from the community, Team Autism had 51 runners
and walkers participate in the 2007 Detroit Free Press Marathon for Autism
Society of America, Oakland County Chapter (ASA/OCC). They raised awareness
and over $8,000 in funds used to support various projects in special education
classrooms.
Our runners and walkers have finally caught their breath, and Team
Autism is now ready to step it up for 2008. To start, we are now designated
as a Gold
Run for a Reason Charity Partner of the Detroit Marathon, which provides
our cause with much-needed awareness and visibility. In addition, this October
19th, we hope to have about 75 people running and walking in various events
of the Detroit Marathon for the ASA/OCC. Ladies and Gentleman, Team Autism
is back!
As we train, we dedicate our sore muscles, crusty joints, smelly
shoes, and sweat-soaked shirts to not only all those who are affected by
autism spectrum
disorders, but also to every person who has made a contribution in the
lives of these very special people. Dollar by dollar, stride by stride, we
can
work to find a cure for this disorder. Making a difference is only a few
clicks
away.
Donating through this site is simple, fast, tax deductible, and completely
secure. It is also the most efficient way to contribute to Team Autism’s
fundraising efforts. Many thanks for your support --and don't forget
to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!
If
you would
rather
donate by check, make checks payable to ASA/OCC and put "Team Autism" or
the name of the team member you are supporting in the memo line. Please
mail checks to the ASA/OCC, at this address:
ASA/OCC, P.O. Box 70207,

Thank you for visiting this page. Please remember
